Valahia University Targoviste, Romania is a 22 years old state university, including in its structure 9 faculties (long-term courses of 3 or 4 years), 4 departments, 32 bachelor degree specializations, 33 master’s degree programmes, 6 directions for doctoral studies, 33 post-university study programmes of specialization. At present, 303 full time and 82 part-time academic staff - organized in 18 educational departments - are working in the institution, training and guiding around 7200 students.
Prahova Natural Science Museum
The Prahova Natural Science Museum is a special cultural institution in the Romanian South-Muntenia Region, storing in its exhibitions the living and non-living, aiming to train and educate the general public, also through specific training sessions, organized in the Museum halls. Its main core is based on scientific issues with the aim to raise the interest for Sciences, but also to the significance of life. It consists of 7 sections located in Ploieşti, Bucov, Sinaia, Slănic, Cheia, Vălenii de Munte, Plopeni.

The History Museum Targoviste aims to develop and exploit all the aspects related to cultural & scientific heritage of Dâmboviţa County. The museum was opened on May, 11, 1967, and is located in a building dating from the second-half of the nineteenth century. Basically, the museum has permanent and periodical exhibitions dedicated to the history of the Region. The evolution of humans (starting with Paleolithic period), but also the development of technology, represent topics developed by the museum specialists.
