Project Irresisitble  was presented by two symposia organized at the European Conference on Research in Chemistry Education (ECRICE), in Barcelona, Spain, between September 7-10, 2016.  

The first symposium entitled “Teacher Training Made Irresistible” was organized and led by Sevil Akaygun from Bogazici University, Turkey, and held on September 8th, 2016. This symposium included 4 oral communications; namely, the presentation entitled “Understanding Responsible Research and Innovation: Perspective of Teachers” was given by Sevil Akaygun, the communication entitled “Science Teachers’ Training In Implementing Cutting-Edge Research Topics in Science Classes” was given by Katerina Salta from University of Crete, Greece, the presentation entitled “The Use of a Community of Learners as a Professionalization Tool” was given by Jan Apotheker since Iwona Maciejowska and Malgorzata Kzeckowska from Jagiellonian University, Krakow were unable to attend the conference, and the final communication entitled “Teachers’ Concern Profiles in Teaching Responsible Research and Innovation” was presented by Miikka de Vocht from University of Helsinki, Finland.

The second symposium entitled “The Irresistible Way to Engage School Students with RRI”, was organized and led by Jan Apotheker, on September 9th, 2016. This symposium included 5 oral communications, namely, the presentation entitled “The Project Irresistible: Introducing Responsıble Research and Innovation into The Secondary School Classroom” was given by Jan Apotheker, the communication with the title of “The Rationale of Responsıble Research and Innovation (RRI) in Science Education” was given by Ron Blonder from Weizmann Institute of Science, Israel, the presentation entitled “Irresistible Exhibitions on Responsible Research and Innovation: The Impact of the Process of Exhibition Development on Both Students and Teachers” was given by Rita Marques from Lisbon University, Portugal, the communication entitled “Explorıng Students’ Motivation while Creating a Student Curated Exhibition” was given by Lorenz Kampschulte from Leibniz Institute for Science and Mathematics Education (IPN), Germany, and the final presentation entitled “Exploring Students’ Attitudes Toward Responsible Research and Innovation in the Context of Nanotechnology Applications Module” was given by Emine Adadan from Bogazici University, Turkey.
